Below are some frequently asked questions (FAQs) on our tours. If you have more questions you can contact us directly.

1. What should I bring?

This really depends on which tour you are going on.

If you are going to the Blue Mountains or the Southern Highlands you should bring: a drink bottle, comfortable walking shoes and a jacket as there is a chance of cooler weather.

If you are going to the Northern Beaches you should bring: a drink bottle, comfortable walking shoes (if you are bushwalking), thongs/flip flops, swimwear and a towel.

And if you are going on the Sydney City Landmarks and Food tour, Inner Sydney tour, or to the Hunter Valley you should bring: a drink bottle and comfortable footwear.

I also recommend bringing some cash (Australian dollars) as not all businesses accept card. Of course if you have a camera bring it along as there will be plenty of opportunities on all tours to take pictures.

2. What vehicle will we be travelling in?

For all tours (except the Inner Sydney tour and the Sydney Landmarks tour) we will be travelling in a 2015 Hyundai ix35 Elite.

3. Can I bring my children?

Yes, of course. NSW laws state that all children under the age of 7 must be secured in a car seat. Please advise when booking if your child/children are under 7 so that I can arrange a car seat in advance.

Keep in mind that the tours going outside of Sydney (Blue Mountains, Hunter Valley, Southern Highlands) will consist of up to 4 hours of driving which may not be suitable for some children. Likewise the tours in Sydney can involve a lot of walking. For all tours I recommend a back/front pack to carry babies as many paths are not stroller/pram friendly.

4. How come we will not be going to Bondi Beach or Manly Beach?

Bondi and Manly are two of the most famous beaches in Australia but that does not necessarily make them the best. Fingerprint Tours will take you to lesser known and more difficult to access beaches in the north of Sydney to show you some more unique spots. If you would like to visit Bondi or Manly they can be easily accessed via public transport.

5. I have a certain itinerary in mind, can the tour be tailored to this?

Definitely! When you are submitting your booking form there is an option to customise your tour which will help Corinne create the perfect day for you. Likewise, If there is somewhere you would prefer the tour not go, just advise so in the booking form or via email in advance. Keep in mind that the final decision of the tour route will ultimately lie with Fingerprint Tours.

6. What will the weather be like?

Summer (Dec-Feb): can be very hot with temperatures sometimes exceeding 40 degrees (104 fahrenheit). Most commonly the daytime temperature will be around 25 – 30 degrees (77 – 86 degrees)
Winter (Jun – Aug): cooler with daytime temperatures between 14 – 19 degrees (57 – 66 fahrenheit)
Autumn and Spring (Mar – May and Sep – Nov): the most mild months with daytime temperatures usually around 20 – 25 degrees (68 – 77 fahrenheit)

The weather in and around Sydney can be quite varied from one location to the next. While it may be sunny and warm in Sydney, the Blue Mountains may be quite a few degrees cooler. There can also be fog in the mountains, however this often clears up as the day goes on and can differ from spot to spot.

7. What happens if it is raining on the day of my tour?

The tour will go ahead unless the weather conditions become dangerous to drive (very unlikely). Weather in the Blue Mountains can be very different to the conditions in Sydney, which is why I recommend a rain jacket and warm clothes. 8. What is the cancellation policy?

If the tour is cancelled due to unsafe travelling conditions it can be re-booked for a different date at no extra charge. If no appropriate date can be agreed on, a full refund will be provided.

For all other circumstances, the following timeframes will apply:
Less than 72 hours prior to time of departure – 100 % cancellation charge
Between 72 hours and 7 days prior to time of departure – 50% cancellation charge
Over 7 days prior to day of departure – no cancellation charge, the expenses will be refunded in full
